The first full week of April was off to a good start. The spay/neuter clinic did 61 surgeries. Many of these surgeries were for other rescue groups who we are happy to help. We are also working with SNIP and SPAY, IL to provide low cost spay and neuters to the public that may not be able to have the surgery otherwise. We are still working on getting the word out to the public. We have several ads out in the newspapers. There are brochures available for the clinic at the shelter and it would help if they were distributed. Pick up a few to give to co-workers, friends and family.
Adoptions were a little slow. The great weather usually means a slow down. Not quite sure why but it is always the case. It's funny we do more adoptions in a snow storm. We did do 13 adoptions though. Gizmo, Daisy, Chloe, Dessie, Target, Cena, Rory, Sterno and JoJo were the lucky pooches that got a new home. Osteena, Aleka, Dorian, and Gus were the lucky kitties. This week is the first week for our new Director, Mary Parker, at the shelter. Please stop by to say hello and welcome her at the shelter.
