Wow! February flew by and was very busy. Sorry I haven't been posting the updates weekly as usual. So here goes for the month of Feb. WE ADOPTED 77 DOGS AND CATS TO NEW HOMES!! Really good month. We were able to pull that many from the pound to save them from being euthanized.
Some updates on our rescues with problems. Mouth the kitty hit by a car is doing great. She was spayed yesterday and Dr. Mollet feels her fractures in her jaw are almost healed. Her broken tooth and root were removed during the surgery. Horatio, our little old guy chi with the tongue hanging out, is also doing well. He is now in a foster home with Cindy and enjoying the good life. All the heartworm treatment dogs are doing well-Nimitz, Cheyenne, Cindy, Marcy, Peg, Mater, Ned, and Jackson. We took in a puppy that had been hit by a car with a fractured leg and dislocated hip. So far so good. All the parvo pups made it! So good month!
All of our events for Feb. were great! Adoptathon went well at Glen Carbon Petsmart-we did 26 adoptions that weekend. The Silent Auction at Ravanelli's as well as the dinner was great. Big thank you to Cindy and Ravanelli's for helping the animals at our shelter. Trivia was outstanding! The house was packed. Next time we need a bigger place. We raised much needed funds to pay for the medical care of our dogs and cats. Big thank you to all who attended and helped make this Trivia great. Thanks to all our sponsors too! The show of support was awesome! Big thank you to all the people that made this happen too-especially Jennifer, Adrianne, Sandy, Lisa C, Jo and Sue. It was really great!
Big thank you to Adrianne for applying for and getting a grant from Enterprise for our shelter. It will really help! Awesome!
Big thank you to Kathi for signing us up with Microsoft for her volunteer hours. For every hour she walked Microsoft donated to P4P.
Big thank you to Tom for picking up the donations in all our donation boxes. We had a secret donor in one of the boxes. Someones wrapped 6-20 dollar bills up in a one dollar bill and put it in a donation box. What a great surprise.
March looks to be a busy month too. See the blog post for March Events.
