Pretty Bell

Belle and her Pilot Friends-Pilots For Paws

Belles' back

Pretty Belle

This beautiful girl is Belle.  She e is guessed to be a 2 year old collie mix. Belle was rescued from a kill shelter in Lafayette TN.  She was days away from being put to sleep.  Belle was found with most of her back burned.  No one knows what happened to her.   She was in extreme pain,  very uncomfortable, but yet extremely loving, always happy to give you a gentle kiss or lick.  There was a plea trying to get a rescue group to take Belle.  That's when Elaine with Border Collie Rescue sent an email to me.  What a face.  I asked how would she get from Tenn. to Illinois and  Elaine said she knew someone.  I told her if they could get her to Illinois, that we would take her.  That is where Pilots For Paws came in. They flew Belle to Illinois so that she could have a second chance.  What a great group of dedicated pilots that fly animals in need to safety.  She seemed to enjoy her flight to the Troy airport.  Great example of different rescue groups working together to help the animals.   When she arrived her back was still open and she was on antibiotics.  It is healed and looks great now.  It is still tender and she rolls over on her back when I try to look at it.  Last week, Joan gave Belle a bath and groom.  She looks beautiful and felt so good. Big thank you to Elaine with Border Collie Rescue and Pilots For Paws for getting Belle to us.  She is now ready for adoption!!
