Partners4Pets: Weekly Update-Nov. 21-27, 2011-17 adoptions!

   Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Misty the little dog with a broken leg is doing well. Virgil had to have his eye removed due to glaucoma but is doing well. Adoptions went well. No adoptions at O'Fallon but we did 17 at Glen Carbon. Dogs that were adopted were: Muriel, Cuddles, Ingrid, Petunia, Bella and Winslow. The kitties were: Carmelia, Logan, Dante, Clay, James, Robbie, Minnie, Cassie, Graycie, Sonny and Kia. The kitties beat the dogs out this week. Killion and Ava went on a trial. Charlie got to go to a foster home after many months at the shelter. He looked very happy. The best news was Sleepy going to stay with Margie. Poor boy had been at the shelter for at least 6 months. Let's keep our fingers crossed he minds his manners. We were able to pull 5 dogs and 4 cats today.
   Last week we had a little pup that was most likely used as a bait dog come into the pound. Nev scooped him up and got him to Horseshoe Lake AH. He had over 100 puncture wounds and a severely lacerated ear and face. His ear canal was severed and the ear torn from the side of his head. He also had a bad puncture on his back leg but the leg was not broken. He had surgery on Weds. to repair the ear and clean out his wounds. He is now resting comfortably at a foster home. I just cannot understand someone thinking that is OK or fun.
   This weekend will be very busy. Santa pictures will be this Sat. and Sunday at the Glen Carbon PetsMart. We will be there from 11 to 4. We will also be doing adoptions Sat. at O'Fallon and Sunday at Glen Carbon. Also this weekend in the Purina Holiday Magic event at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. P4P will be there from 10:00 AM til 4:00 PM. There will be lots of events going on there and it should be alot of fun. Hope to see you there. Lisa
